New Year! New Focus! New Look!
2010 is an exciting time to be a member of the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce. We are continually creating new ways to help our members survive these challenging economic times. Change Is The Vehicle That Will Take Us Where We Need To Go! You'll see changes in our publications, on our website and in all our email blasts!
We've enlisted the skills of Jeremy Walsh, The Right Click, to provide a weekly column on how to better utilize the many networking opportunities the chamber offers, with tips on networking, starting new relationships and getting the most out of each networking event. Our focus is on our members!
Our Shop Local Campaign is progressing forward - we just partnered with the Holiday Inn SK (see article pg. 2) on a Stay, Shop & Dine Package to bring and keep tourist dollars in our community. Between Thanksgiving
and Christmas 2009 the chamber sold over $8,000.00 in gift certificates to be used locally at member businesses in the coming months.
While we are striving to keep our local businesses afloat, we realize that the chamber is not immune to the current economic downturn. The chamber is a small business not unlike the businesses we represent, and we are also finding it necessary to change in the current economic situation. We'll be saving money on postage expenses and utilizing email when we can. Our Monthly newsletter
is now an E-Newsletter, emailed monthly, printed and mailed quarterly. In the New Year our focus will be on meeting the needs of our members by providing marketing and advertising opportunities, educational programs, informative seminars, networking events and so much more! Remember, the chamber is your marketing tool.
If you haven't taken advantage of the opportunities we offer, NOW is the time to reengage yourself with us. We can help; we have many low cost advertising opportunities which can help propel our
member businesses through these challenging times.
Call or stop by today! Our friendly staff is waiting to help.
Enthusiastically,
Mr.Joseph J. Iacoi Executive Director |
